Apparently, the Dalai Lama has several different opinions on how countries should handle their own affairs, especially when it comes to immigration.
In this article, published on France 2, the Dalai Lama, speaking at a conference on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, in Sweden’s third-largest city of Malmo, said that, “Europe belongs to Europeans,” and that refugees should return to their native countries to rebuild them.
But he’s not worried, apparently about the rise of ‘nationalism and selfishness’ in Europe. That sentiment is reserved for President Donald Trump, and America. Criticizing Trump and the United States immigration policies, in an interview with The Washington Post on October 11, 2017, he claimed that, because of President Donald Trump’s ‘America First’ policy, America is more ‘selfish’ and ‘nationalistic.’
- “Your ancestors really considered the importance of liberty, freedom, democracy, these things,” the Dalai Lama said in response to my question about his current view of the United States. “The present president, in the very beginning he mentioned ‘America first.’ That sounded in my ear not very nice.”
The Dalai Lama appeared to be concerned that Trump would not continue to support the cause of Tibet, and cut off the flow of money, because the U.S. government has been funneling millions of dollars to Tibetan organizations for decades. Of course, the Dalai Lama could easily pick up any slack in funds for his people, as he controls billions in world currency. Consider the number of decades he has been traveling the world fundraising. How many millions have been ‘donated’ to him in these decades, and to other Tibetan lamas. And, where is this money?
Tibetan lamas are famous for not shelling out their own money for their expenses. They are ‘holy men,’ and expect that their followers will pay for everything. The cash money they receive in ‘donations’ ‘for the benefit of all sentient beings’ is squirreled away.
NXIVM’s Keith Raniere reportedly paid two million dollars to the Dalai Lama, for a brief appearance in 2009. Interestingly enough, the Dalai Lama Foundation was organized shortly after this appearance, with over two million dollars. That’s a lot of money, for a startup foundation.
Perhaps the Dalai Lama is afraid the United States will discontinue allowing ‘displaced’ Tibetans to immigrate and settle in America. Many Tibetans have been allowed to immigrate to America, and many have been sponsored by Americans to visit. How many undocumented Tibetans then disappeared into the cities around the country, silently folded into the established Tibetan-American communities?
By seeming to change his opinion on unchecked immigration in Europe (after being for it there) he may be angling for a meeting with President Donald Trump, but let’s not forget how he mocked Trump in September, 2016. Not very wise or compassionate for a supposed ‘enlightened man,’ a ‘man-god,’ or even someone who should know the consequences of one’s actions.
Mocking and criticizing a world leader is not good diplomacy.
The Dalai Lama’s opinion, “Europe belongs to Europeans” is an unacceptable double standard. Will he soon be saying, “America belongs to Americans”, and that illegal immigrants should return to their own countries?
